CONTROLS / AUTOMATION ENGINEER
The Opportunity
Our client is conducting a confidential search for a Controls / Automation Engineer based in the Charlotte, NC metro. This role designs, programs, commissions, and supports industrial automation systems across PLC, HMI, SCADA, drives, and motion-control applications for manufacturing and process-industry customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop PLC programs (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) and HMI / SCADA applications
- Specify and integrate VFDs, servo drives, vision systems, robotics, and safety controls
- Lead FAT, SAT, and on-site commissioning at customer plants
- Partner with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers on full-system integration
- Provide post-commissioning support, optimization, and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- 4+ years of industrial controls / automation engineering experience
- Strong PLC programming skills (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar)
- Working knowledge of HMI / SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk, Ignition, WinCC)
- Field-commissioning experience preferred
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering preferred
