Job description
Our client is a respected compressed air equipment distributor seeking a Field Service Technician to service rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, dryers, and related air-system equipment at customer sites across the Cranston, RI territory and surrounding New England area.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for a technician who takes pride in solving problems in the field, keeping critical plant air running, and building long-term trust with industrial customers. You will work independently out of a take-home service vehicle, backed by manufacturer training and a strong aftermarket organization.
- Competitive pay in the $65K–$95K range depending on experience, plus strong overtime and on-call premium

- Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience servicing industrial equipment (compressed air, pumps, generators, HVAC, hydraulics, or similar)
- Comfortable troubleshooting electrical controls, motors, and mechanical drive systems
- Strong diagnostic skills and a methodical, safety-first approach
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily service route
- Professional, customer-focused communication
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift, climb, and work in industrial plant environments
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls
- Air compressor or rotating-equipment service experience is a strong plus
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on air compressors, dryers, and air-system components
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults and restore equipment to reliable operation
- Complete startups, inspections, and air audits at customer facilities
- Document service work accurately and recommend repairs and upgrades to customers
- Maintain vehicle inventory, tools, and a professional jobsite presence
- Deliver an excellent service experience on every call
